About Us

Healing from trauma is about more than moving past difficult experiences—it's about reclaiming your sense of safety, confidence, and connection. For more than 25 years, Diana Levitt has dedicated her career to helping adolescents and adults heal from trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, and life's most challenging transitions. As the founder of Oak Family Counseling, Diana created a practice where clients receive individualized, compassionate care grounded in the latest evidence-based research and delivered within a safe, supportive therapeutic relationship.
A North Carolina native, Diana earned her Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Denison University and her Master's Degree in Counseling from the University of North Dakota. Throughout her career, she has worked across a myriad of clinical settings—including family court, therapeutic foster care, residential treatment, hospitals, and outpatient mental health—providing her with extensive experience treating complex trauma and the many ways it can affect every aspect of a person's life.
Diana's passion and expertise lie in trauma recovery. She understands that trauma impacts not only our thoughts and emotions but also our relationships, physical health, nervous system, and sense of self. Rather than relying on a single therapeutic approach, she develops individualized treatment plans that integrate evidence-based modalities and other trauma-informed interventions. Her goal is to help clients gain insight, build resilience, and develop practical tools that create lasting change.
Believing that emotional and physical wellness are deeply interconnected, Diana expanded her expertise by becoming a Certified Mental Health Integrative Medicine Provider, allowing her to collaborate with medical professionals and incorporate a whole-person approach to healing whenever appropriate. She was among the first clinicians in North Carolina to become a Board Certified TeleMental Health Provider, reflecting her ongoing commitment to accessible, high-quality care across North Carolina.
Whether you are struggling with the lasting effects of trauma, overwhelming anxiety, depression, or a significant life transition, Diana believes that healing is possible. Her approach is collaborative, compassionate, and empowering, meeting you where you are while helping you move toward where you want to be.

You don't have to navigate life's challenges alone. If you're ready to begin your journey toward healing, resilience, and renewed hope, Diana would be honored to walk alongside you. Reach out today to schedule an appointment and take the first step toward lasting change.

A Focus on Trauma & Healing

Trauma can influence how we understand ourselves, connect with others, respond to stress, and move through everyday life.

Therapy can offer a place to slow down, understand those patterns, and develop a different way forward.

Diana's work is especially focused on supporting women and adults who have experienced trauma and are ready to explore deeper, meaningful therapeutic work.
